Call Progress Tone


Definition
A tone sent from the telephone switch to tell the caller of the progress. Examples of the common ones are dial tone, busy tone, ringback tone, error tone, re-order, etc. Some phone systems provide additional tones, such as confirmation, splash tone, or a reminder tone to indicate that a feature is in use, such as confirmation, hold reminder, hold, and intercept tones.
