Multi-Frequency Tones

Tones which have two or more frequency components. DTMF, MF and R2 tones are examples of dual tones, i.e. multi-frequency tones which have two components. Two components is good because it guards against false positive detections, three or more is getting complicated and is not used in any standard signaling system which this author is familiar with.
