Telecommunications Management Network

TMN

A strategy to create and identify standard interfaces for consistent network management across all network component suppliers. Originated in 1988 by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), TMN fosters and tracks efforts to develop standard ways to define and address network components. TMN, which uses the OSI Management Standards as a framework, applies to wireless communications and cable TV as well as to private and public wired networks.
