They are designed to expand the scope of your RS-232 or RS-422/485 serial data applications, and are 100% compliant with EIA RS-232 unbalanced and both RS-422 & RS-485 4-wire balanced line specifications. These converters maintain the same form factor as other Signamax media converters, allowing their use in the Model 065-1180 and the Model 065-1185 Signamax Rack Mount Chassis systems. Converters for both multimode and singlemode fiber are available in both RS-232 and RS-422/485 configurations.
