A10 - The A10 CPU board combines workstation characteristics with embedded control capabilities and industrial requirements. The A10 with the high-end MC68060 CPU, including MMU and FPU, is MEN's top dual-processor 68K industrial single-board real-time workstation. It is fully hardware and software compatible with the A9, capping the family's scalable performance at well over 100 MIPS. Because of full compatibility between A9 and A10, a single processor family (and a single BSP) can be used many places in a system. Major SBC components are part of the design story: the powerful 32-bit processor(s), DRAM, SRAM and Flash memory, multiple serial and mass storage interfaces, graphics and Ethernet, making the A10 fully functional VME CPU card. The other part, the many features often required for hard industrial applications, are also provided on the card: including PC-card carrier, CAN bus interface, timers, RTC, watchdog, temperature sensors, and DRAM parity. Four M-Modules providing flexible industrial I/O extension can be mounted on the same double Eurocard, and can be accessed without hitting the VMEbus. The A10 single-board computer is partly compatible with the MVME172 and MVME177 boards by Motorola.

A11 - The A11 is an industrial PowerPC single-board computer with scalable performance delivering up to 1160 MIPS. When equipped with the 603e, the A11 delivers excellent price-performance for cost-sensitive applications with a need for high computing power. The board can also be ordered with the 740 PowerPC CPU family for applications where maximum perfomance is required. The A11 is a complete state-of-the-art computer board needing only one slot on the VMEbus. It offers fast Ethernet and Ultra2 SCSI controllers, a large amount of DRAM, Flash and CompactFlash memory. Four serial interfaces are provided - two of them default as COM3 and COM4, and the others as COM1 and COM2 directly at the front panel or via a transition module. The A11 offers computer I/O flexibility by providing two slots for PC-MIP mezzanine modules, while still providing full front-panel connectivity. Both Type I and Type II PC-MIP modules can be used to equip the A11 with a full range of workstation and industrial I/O options. Graphics for VGA, additional Ethernet or SCSI for server or redundancy purposes, fieldbus interfaces for remote I/O control, and many others are available, depending on the application. The VME-PC can be delivered with a Celeron processor (400MHz / 100MHz FSB / 256K L2 Cache) or Pentium III processor (933MHz / 133MHz FSB / 512K L2 Cache). Both versions feature a 64-bit VME bridge with full master/slave functionality as well as a 32-bit/33MHz local PCI interface to support the PC-MIP mezzanine slots. The onboard SO-DIMM accepts up to 512MB DRAM and the CompactFlash slot allows use of silicon disks. The board is provided with the 815G chip set, which comprises an embedded graphics controller. A201S - The A201S is an M-Module carrier board for universal I/O on the VMEbus, allowing high flexibility in applications such as process and motion control, measuring and instrumentation, communication or special-purpose tasks. The M-Modules are screwed tightly on the carrier board, but the board needs only one slot on the VMEbus. An interrupt controller handles the M-Modules individually. In VMEbus D16 systems the I/O signals of the M-Modules can be accessed from P2/J2 inside the rack.

A302 - The A302 is an input/output VMEbus target board for 128 binary process signals. The I/Os are divided into four optically isolated units. The card is used for input/output of digital signals with different voltage levels and ground references. For each unit 32 channels are driven to a 44-pin D-Sub connector. Each channel can be either input or output. The binary inputs/outputs can be universally used in industrial systems. They are optically isolated from the system, which is essential for advanced automotive and industrial applications.

A4N - The A4N CPU board is a universal intelligent VMEbus master and/or slave. Being equipped with sufficient local EPROM/Flash, SRAM, RTC etc., the 32-bit CPU (MC68332) handles three local M-Modules. The A4-EXT extension board allows to add another four local M-Modules with a second VMEbus slot. Each M-Module slot has its own DMA channel. The M-Module trigger lines can be controlled through the "TPU" (Time Processing Unit) of the MC68332. In 16-bit VMEbus systems, the I/O signals of the M-Modules are also available inside the rack at P2/J2. The A4N can access the VMEbus as an A24/A16/D16 master, and it can also perform slot-1 function. As a slave, the board has 2MB of genuine dual-ported RAM. Due to its bus architecture and I/O modularity the A4N is suited for a myriad of applications. Together with several M-Modules it can be used as a complete controlling computer or can fulfill I/O tasks in a VMEbus multimaster system. Its genuine dual-ported RAM makes the A4N also an ideal choice for use as an intelligent data acquisition system or for handling local I/O tasks.

AD38 - The AD38 is a 3U rear I/O adapter for use in combination with MEN's F2 CompactPCI workstation. It is plugged onto J1/J2 of the F2's I/O board from the rear side and leads the rear-panel I/O signals to standard connectors. Consequently, standard cables can be used to connect drives and other peripherals.

AD45 - The AD45 combines RS232 functionality with fast Ethernet. The double-wide PC-MIP module is a high-performance quadruple UART with RS232 interface. Each 16C950 UART channel has 128-deep transmit and receive FIFOs, with readable levels and user-defined thresholds. All UARTs are capable of delivering up to 15Mbps asynchronous data throughput simultaneously, and are software-compatible with commonly used 16C450, 550, 650 and 750 UARTs. The UARTs support Big Endian byte-lane conversion, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 bit data framing and Infra-red (IrDA) receiver and transmitter as well as several other sophisticated functions for high-end serial communication requirements. The AD45 is supplied with RS232 line drivers using standard RJ45 connectors at the front. At the same time, the AD45 is an Ethernet module with a DS21143 intelligence. It supports a full-duplex 100Base-T interface on a standard RJ45 front panel connector. The Ethernet MAC address is stored in a serial EEPROM.

B11 - The B11 is a high-speed PowerPC based VMEbus CPU board with complete single-board computing functionality. It is optimized for industrial requirements in control and instrumentation in terms of functionality, environmental conditions and cost. The B11 is especially prepared for all types of industrial qualification such as extended temperature range (-40..+85°C), shock, vibration, humidity etc. The computing core of the B11 is the powerful MPC8245 Kahlua II processor with its internal PowerPC 603 and 300MHz clock frequency. The B11 is equipped with one SO-DIMM SDRAM slot, a CompactFlash slot and soldered boot Flash. This guarantees maximum flexibility in memory configuration. The B11 hosts two serial interfaces, IDE hard-disk controller, keyboard, mouse and USB as well as a real-time clock and watchdog. Two local PC-MIP mezzanine slots are available for flexible and individual workstation I/O extensions such as Ethernet, graphics, SCSI, additional serial lines, field busses etc. The non-transparent PCI-to-VME bridge is a very fast and cost-competitive in-house design. Using a dual-ported SRAM, the B11 speeds up to a transfer rate of 7MB/s for master single cycle operations and up to 13MB/s for slave burst operations. Despite the full functionality of the B11 and even with 2 PC-MIP slots, the complete CPU card needs only one 3U slot in a VMEbus system.

B12 - The B12 is a VMEbus single Eurocard industrial computer designed to operate under harsh environmental conditions, e.g. in trains. The B12 is controlled by a PowerPC MPC823e microprocessor which operates at 66MHz. It provides 32MB SDRAM for data and up to 32MB Flash memory for program storage. 32KB non-volatile FRAM can be used to periodically store operating data. There is no loss of operating data if system power is switched off. The B12 gives access to the serial communication ports of the MPC823e. These include two RS232 ports and a 10Base-T Ethernet interface on the board. In addition, the B12 offers three CAN controllers and an RS422/485 interface accessible at the front panel. All of these interfaces are optically isolated. The B12 CPU board is prepared for master and slave operations on the VMEbus. It is equipped with a real-time clock, temperature sensor and a voltage supervisor. Board configuration data is stored in a 4kbit serial EEPROM. The B12 is fully compliant with EN50155 and thus an ideal computer for railway applications.

B201S - The B201S is an M-Module carrier board for universal peripheral input/output applications on the VMEbus. B402 - The B402 CPU board is a universal intelligent VMEbus master and/or slave. Being equipped with sufficient local EPROM/Flash, SRAM, RTC etc., the 32-bit CPU (MC68332) handles one local M-Module. The B402 makes use of the 16 TPU channels ("Time Processing Units") of the RISC CPU inside the 68332. The TPU channels provide user-defined intelligent timer functions, for example for signal analysis. All TPU lines for the on-board M-Module are available as TTL signals on row C of the M-Module I/O connector. The B402 can access the VMEbus as an A24/A16/D16 master, and it can also perform slot-1 function. As a slave, the board has 2MB of genuine dual-ported RAM. Due to its bus architecture and I/O modularity the B402 is suited for a myriad of applications. Together with an M-Module it can be used as a controlling computer or can fulfill I/O tasks in a VMEbus multimaster system. Its genuine dual-ported RAM makes the B402 also an ideal choice for use as an intelligent data acquisition system or for handling local I/O tasks.

B5 - Due to its numerous serial interfaces and the powerful 68040V/68060 CPU, the B5 CPU board is optimized for high-speed communication control. All of the serial lines of the 68360 are available: one Ethernet 10Base-T, three RS232 interfaces, and two RS232, RS422, RS485 or TTY interfaces (or optional second Ethernet). Two full/extended CAN interfaces complete the B5's communication features. The B5 supports full VMEbus master/slave functionality; it has abundant on-board memory and an RTC. Due to its local and global bus, genuine dual-ported DRAM and the shared M-Module slot the B5 is also optimized for slave operation with all VME communication features installed. B6 - The B6 is a cost-optimized single-board CPU board for embedded communication-intensive applications. The board features an MC68360, which supports all kins of serial protocols including Ethernet, Bitbus, UART etc. This 68020-compatible 32-bit CISC processor is well equipped with 4MB SRAM, 4MB DRAM and 4MB Flash. Independent of the CISC processor a RISC processor is available for communication tasks. It can serve up to six serial interfaces with 12 DMA channels. The line drivers of the serial interfaces are not fixed by the board. Two serial interfaces are connected directly on the CPU, another four via ribbon cable. They can be adapted to RS232/485 as well as Bitbus and Ethernet. An M-Module slot is provided for local extensions. It needs a second slot on the VMEbus. A mounting kit is available. Full multimaster-capability as well as automatic slot-1 functionality make the B6 an interesting choice for many VMEbus applications. The B6 was designed to be extremely cost-effective. It is also available for harsh environmental requirements.

C201 - The C201 is an M-Module carrier board for universal peripheral I/O applications on a desktop PC with AT interface. The M-Modules plugged on the C201 are screwed tightly on the carrier board. The long-slot card C201 can carry three M-Modules.

C202 - The C202 is an M-Module carrier board for universal peripheral I/O applications on a desktop PC with AT interface. The M-Module plugged on the C202 is screwed tightly on the carrier board. The short-slot card C202 can carry one M-Module.

CT01 - The CT01 is a 6U CompactPCI transition module for use in combination with MEN's 6U CompactPCI carrier boards for PC-MIP mezzanine modules. It is plugged onto J3/J4/J5 of the CompactPCI backplane system slot from the rear side and leads the rear-panel I/O signals to standard connectors. Consequently, standard cables can be used to connect peripherals.

CT02 - The CT02 is a 6U CompactPCI transition module for use in combination with MEN's D2 or D4 CompactPCI workstations. It is plugged onto (J3/)J4/J5 of the CompactPCI backplane system slot from the rear side and leads the rear-panel I/O signals to standard connectors. Consequently, standard cables can be used to connect drives and other peripherals.

D2 - The D2 is a Pentium single-board computer optimized for industrial requirements in control and instrumentation in terms of functionality, environmental conditions and cost. It needs only one slot in a CompactPCI system. Its "Socket 7+"-based computing core supports Tillamook CPUs up to 266MHz. The chip set comes with 100MHz CPU and 33MHz PCI bus clock and supports the latest DRAM technology. All PCI components are carefully selected for optimum support regarding long-term availability. In addition to state-of-the-art PC functionality - such as 10/100Mbit Ethernet, UARTs, EIDE, LPT, Microsoft ACPI, floppy, GPIO and USB - the D2 is equipped with a bundle of industrial functions. D4 - With the Pentium 4 Mobile Northwood processor, the 845G Brookdale chipset technology (400MHz local bus frequency) and its 64-bit/66-MHz bridge to the CompactPCI bus (32-bit/33-MHz on board), the D4 is one of the most powerful 6U single-board computers today. Standard versions come with the 1.7GHz and 2.2GHz processors from Intel's "Embedded Line". The D4 can operate as a system-slot card for any CompactPCI or PXI system, with the system slot capable of being placed either left or right in the enclosure. The 1-slot D4 supports full hot swap and is compatible with PICMG 2.16 and the requirements of a server blade. The 845G chipset supports up to 1 GB of 200MHz DDRAM. Application code is conveniently stored in a scalable CompactFlash which is controlled via IDE. A second IDE channel allows direct connection of an onboard 2.5" hard disk. The chipset also features a DVI graphics controller which allows for attachment of both advanced and legacy flat-panel displays and CRT monitors. Three onboard USB ports provide universal interfaces to a variety of peripheral devices (such as keyboard, mouse, printer, modem, or camera). For high-speed networking and field bus interfacing, the D4 features two or three Gigabit Ethernet lines (depending on the model). F205 - The F205 is a 3U M-Module carrier board for universal I/O on the CompactPCI bus as well as on PXI for automated testing requirements. It allows high flexibility in applications such as data acquisition or process control. The F205 supports all eight PXI trigger lines as defined in the PXI specification. The F205 is slightly higher than standard 3U format, providing enough space for two M-Modules while staying compatible with CompactPCI or PXI racks through special guide rails already included in the delivery. F4 - The F4 is a high-speed Kahlua II PowerPC-based CompactPCI CPU card optimized for industrial requirements in control and instrumentation in terms of functionality, environmental conditions and cost. It is especially prepared for all types of industrial qualification such as extended temperature range (-40 to +85°C), shock, vibration, humidity etc., and is thus the optimum choice for the most extreme environmental conditions: railroad, ship and aerospace applications. The F4 provides full single-board computing functionality on one slot and includes two PC-MIP slots for further I/O extensions. The F4 has a non-transparent PCI-to-PCI bridge and acts as a peripheral board on the CompactPCI bus. Using an adapter in double PC-MIP format (AD45) the F4 functionality can be extended by four RS232 UARTs and 100Base-T Ethernet. The signals are available at the front via five RJ45 connectors. The F4 in this configuration still needs only one slot on the CompactPCI bus (see Related Products and AD45 data sheet).

F6 - The F6 is a 3U industrial computer for multichannel communication applications on the CompactPCI bus. The card can operate in the system slot as well as in peripheral slots. The F6 is designed to operate in industrial environments. PCB design, component selection, manufacturing and qualification such as ESD and -40 to +85°C temperature screening guarantee high reliability even under harsh environmental conditions. The F6 especially provides all interfaces for integration of typical telecommunication applications. The heart of the F6 CPU board is the PowerQUICC II MPC8260 with an integrated PowerPC EC603e processor core operating at 200MHz. The integrated communication processor module (CPM) of the MPC8260 comes with three fast communications controllers (FCC), two multichannel controllers (MCC) for TDM, four serial communications controllers (SCC) for HDLC/SDLC or UART applications and two serial management controllers (SMC) for low-speed operations. The F6 offers flexible use of MPC8260 communication controllers. Channels of the MCCs, FCCs and SCCs are routed to a COM Extension connector for implementation of ATM, E1/T1, fast Ethernet or HDLC interfaces. The remaining ports are used on board the F6 for fast Ethernet and UART operation. Different physical interface configuration such as RS232, RS422/RS485 or 10Base-T is available for two SCCs.

F7 - Equipped with a Celeron or Pentium III processor, the F7 is a powerful 3U CPU board based on Socket 370. It is a perfect match as a system-slot card for any CompactPCI system, with the system slot being placed either left or right in the enclosure. A peripheral-slot version of the F7 is available on request. For 6U CompactPCI and PXI systems the F7 is available with a special mounting kit including a 6U front panel. The board is provided with the i810/i810E chip set, which contains an embedded graphics controller. The DVI interface allows for attachment of both advanced and legacy flat-panel displays and CRT monitors. The onboard USB port is a universal interface to a variety of peripheral devices (such as keyboard, mouse, printer, modem, or video camera). For high-speed networking, the F7 features a 10/100Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface. All connections mentioned above are conveniently available at the card's front panel. For mass storage, the F7 provides enhanced EIDE features, suitable for any EIDE hard disk and CD-ROM drive. An onboard CompactFlash slot allows use of silicon disks. The jumperless board can be used with a front-side bus clock of up to 133MHz. Equipped with a PCI-bridge chip, the F7 offers a full CompactPCI interface for reliable system expansion. Last but not least, the F7's General Software BIOS was especially designed for embedded system applications.

F7N - Equipped with a Tualatin Celeron or Pentium III processor, the F7N is a powerful 3U CPU board based on Socket 370. Although offering a complete PC with additional industrial features, the board still needs only one slot on the backplane. It is a perfect match for any CompactPCI system as a system-slot card, with the system slot being placed either left or right in the enclosure. For 6U CompactPCI and PXI systems the F7N is available with a special mounting kit including a 6U front panel. The board is provided with the 815G chip set, which contains an embedded graphics controller. The DVI interface allows for attachment of both advanced and legacy flat-panel displays and CRT monitors. The onboard USB port is a universal interface to a variety of peripheral devices (such as keyboard, mouse, printer, modem, or video camera). For high-speed networking, the F7N features a Gigabit Ethernet interface. All connections mentioned above are conveniently available at the card's front panel. For mass storage, the F7N provides an Ultra ATA/66 EIDE interface, suitable for any EIDE hard disk and CD-ROM drive. An onboard CompactFlash slot allows use of silicon disks. The jumperless board can be used with a front-side bus clock of up to 133MHz. Equipped with a PCI-bridge chip, the F7N offers a full CompactPCI interface for reliable system expansion. Last but not least, the F7N's Phoenix BIOS was especially designed for embedded system applications.

F8 - The F8 is a powerful CompactPCI or busless industrial PC for multimedia and infotainment applications -- for vehicles (railways, buses, planes, trucks...) and stationary information systems. It is designed to operate in harsh environments up to EN 50155 (railway standard). The F8 is controlled by the Crusoe TM5900 microprocessor from Transmeta, a Pentium III-like x86 CPU with an integrated Northbridge that operates at 800MHz. What makes this CPU especially attractive is its extremely low power consumption of typically 5W at 800MHz and a guaranteed long-term availability of five years. The SBC is equipped with an onboard 133MHz fast DDR RAM SO-DIMM socket for data storage, a CompactFlash slot for scalable program storage and an integrated graphics RAM. At its front panel the F8 provides one RS232 interface and two Fast Ethernet channels via RJ45 connectors or 9-pin D-Sub connectors. The front panel also includes two Digital Video Interfaces (DVI and DVI-I) for long-distance connectivity and USB 1.1. The onboard display controller supports enhanced multi-display capabilities at a maximum of 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution (235-MHz, 24-bit RAMDAC). It can drive two independent digital displays (dual digital), alternatively with identical or with different screen displays. Simultaneously, it can drive two DVI and one CRT display (DualMon). The F8 provides slots for eight SA adapters for all kinds of serial interfaces (RS232, RS422/485, HDLC, binary I/O, CAN, AC'97 audio, keyboard/mouse). The functionality of the SA adapters (and other individual functions) can be flexibly implemented in the onboard FPGA as a customization of F8. The FPGA content can be programmed by the application software.
